UP/DOWN is an award winnig personal project. Sixteen original cars, that shaped 100 years of Opel's racing history where poratraited for this personal book. After shooting all the cars from the sides and from above to point out colors and design, we got the idea to shoot them also from below!
As we talked to Uwe Mertin, head of Opel Classic, he thought we were kidding. Two month later he made it happen by using a huge crane, lifting the cars up to 8m!
While postprodoction was done inhouse, Florian Stürmer, creative head of "DIE STÜRMER" took care of layout and graphic design of this one of a kind book.
The final result was awarded with the "Red Dot Design Award", "Berliner Type Gold" and "Good Design" by DDC (German Designers Club)
